Sprint Start to Roll-Out Android 4.0 Update for LG Viper
Another great news from Sprint. After announcing the arrival of LG Optimus G, the Now Network is recently make an announcement that LG Viper‘s official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is available for download now!
LG Viper was Sprint’s first 4G LTE device. Sadly, when it was released on April, the handset is still running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But that shouldn’t be the problem now since an official ICS update is already around the corner.
According to detailed changelog released by LG and Sprint there are no special features aside from ICS’ standard. This is mean that both of them are currently not implement any new innovation on this firmware update. However, that doesn’t mean this Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is not a welcomed release. Not all handsets are lucky enough to receive such treat from it’s manufacturer.
Once you finish the update process on your LG Viper, it will be running on firmware version LS840ZVI. The update itself is available Over the Air (OTA). This is mean that you don’t have to prepare your computer or USB cable. Just in case you want to check if the update is already available on your region, you can navigate to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. If it’s still not there, don’t be panic guys. Normally, an OTA update will take days or even weeks before manage to reach all region. So, be patience.
