Open Garden Review
There are lot of WiFi tethering app that now available at Google Play store. But that doesn’t mean that developer stop developing more application to support such function. My latest favorite is Open Garden. This app is now become the only WiFi tethering app that featured at Google Play store top list. Install it on your Android handset and you will be able to share your monthly data plan to your Windows or Mac laptop and other Android tablet. In addition, you can also use Open Garden to take advantage from other phone’s connection!
Using Open Garden is a very peasant experience. It works fast and very efficient. Install the Android app on your handset and the desktop version on your computer. Open Garden will immediately work in the background to pair these two devices via Bluetooth.
The app will show you if the connection attempt is successful. You can also view the amount of used data on the same interface. Open Garden is also designed to detect other nearby device that using similar app. Tap on a name of detected device and Open Garden will lead you to the most effective way to make it online as well.
Unfortunately, Open Garden doesn’t allow you to take control over other device, at least right now. The good news is, developer said that there will be an update released in the near future. Users will be able to determine how much data that they want to share and control the consolidation function, so two devices will have faster web surfing access.
I already spend couple of hours using this app and i must say that i am really satisfied. Open Garden manage to hook up my Android handset and my MacBook, although it takes few minutes before a proper connection is finally established. But somehow, i found out that launch Open Garden from Android then continue with reopen it on the computer will finish the connecting process faster.
What do you think about this guys? Interested to use Open Garden? I think it’s a good alternative for another famous WiFi tether app like PdaNet, so you might want to give it a shot.
