Namco’s Deluxe Cafe Game Review

Namco’s Deluxe Cafe is a new game where gamers will have the chance to run a small cafe and serve customers with some good dishes. The storyline is quite simple. You are given with a key to a new cake shop. During most of time you play the game, you will try to cook some different cake with various recipes. Each of this dessert will require different time to prepare. For example, single stove can only bake one cake. You need to understand that each dish can only be displayed in single counter. This is mean you need purchase three or four counter if you want to display your baked cakes at once.

One thing that i love from Namco’s Deluxe Cafe is the ability to create customized recipe. You can edit the cake’s name, cooking time, and prepared servings. There are some different categories that you can choose, from color of the cake, icing pattern, sprinkles, and more. Please note that adding more decorative items will make your production budget increase. However, you can also choose for how long the cake should be baked.

Namco’s Deluxe Cafe also allow players to cook ice cream dish. However, you need to unlock the ice cream menu first. In order to do that, you need to spend some amount of game’s premium currency. If you are not too interested on doing that, you should add 10 different neighbours. I am talking about other friends that also play Namco’s Deluxe Cafe. Once you done that, the Ice Cream menu will become available. It should add more variety of dish that you can cook, but you also need to install another counter to show it.

Being a normal simulation tycoon game, Namco’s Deluxe Cafe allow you to buy additional appliances and tools to upgrade your cafe. You can purchase extra chairs, so customers can sit outside and enjoy their meals with street landscape. I also recommend you to do upgrade in cashier, counter, and cash register. Off course you can do some additional quests to unlock more cafe appliances and decorative items. Unfortunately, seems like there is no way to expand your Cafe, so more items mean mean more space will be taken.

Interaction between players is also great on this game. You can post your current cafe’s condition on your Facebook account. Since you are allowed to add neighbours, you can also visit other player’s cafe. You can add like star on their business, so their cafe will have more chance to attract customers. However, there’s a single annoying bug from doing this. Once you return from visiting your neighbour, the game will start the tutorial session once again. There is no way to skip this part, so you will have to do the tutorial task all over again. Namco said that this is a pure bug and they will try to fix it in the future release.

Overall, Namco’s Deluxe Cafe is a fine and simple cooking game. But even with the tutorial bug fixed, this game has too many similarities with other game with similar genre. Off that doesn’t make this game bad. It’s just lack of innovation that we’re currently seek for.
