Sony Xperia T owners should be extremely happy right now. An Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for their handset has been available for download! But before it’s getting too excited, i would like to tell you that it is not an official release from Google or Sony. In fact, the update comes in a form of custom AOKP ROM. Might not too interesting for anyone else, but it’s still a welcome release. Today, i will tell you how to install this ROM.
Before we get started, you need to do these following prerequisites. First, check if your Xperia T is rooted already. Second, make full backup of all your important data. Third, enable USB Debugging Mode via Settings > Applications > Development. Fourth, make sure that you get your Xperia T fully charged. Once you done with all these preparations, we can start the guide right away.
1. Download AOKP ROM and GApps package. Connect your handset into the computer. Move both files to the root folder of your SD card
2. Remove the handset and launch ROM Manager app. Remember, do not select Backup option
3. Select Reboot in Recovery Mode
4. Once you already there, select Wipe cache data and continue with Wipe data. Now, navigate to Install Zip from SD Card > Select Zip from SD Card > pick AOKP ROM. Wait until the installation process finish before you do similar thing to the GApps package
5. Reboot your handset.
