ViewSonic VSD220 Android 4.0 Smart Display Unveiled

In order to celebrate their 25th anniversary, ViewSonic proudly present their latest invention: VSD220 Smart Display. This new device comes in a form of 21.5″ LCD touch screen. Since it is announced as Smart Display, you should expect that it has it’s own processors and operating system. And you are right guys. VSD220 is currently work under Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich framework. Deep under it’s surface, lies 1.0GHz TI OMAP 4430 CPU, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal data storage. Usual connectivity like Bluetooth and USB are all available. VSD220 also packed with Ethernet, so you can use it to extend your computer display.

Other important details from VSD220 include micro HDMI port, microSD card slot, 1.3 megapixels front facing camera, microphone and pair of speakers.

It seems like ViewSonic has already think that there will be lot of person who find trouble with controlling their finger’s pressure on big screen. That is why VSD220 is also packed with built in kick stand that able to stretch way behind. You should be able to navigate around the menu interface without being worried about the possibility of dropping the display.

If everything goes according to plan, ViewSonic VSD220 SmartDisplay will be released across Europe on October. It is said that the company will ask £359 for it.
