ViewSonic VCD22 Smart Display Shipped with Android 4.0 to US on October
Back on Computex, we already see the latest invention from ViewSonic. It is a gigantic tablet (or display?) called as VCD22 Smart Display. As it name implies, the company offer you no less than 22″ of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based screen. The good news is, this enormous device is finally available here, in US, very soon. If everything goes according to plan, VCD22 Smart Display should be commercially available on mid-October.
Instead of adding more portability to VCD22, ViewSonic decide that this gadget must have long lasting battery, so they decide to add a bulky powerhouse on the rear side. But aside from this addition, there is no other difference between the new VCD22 and the demo unit that i saw at Taipei few months ago. It still powered by TI OMAP 4 CPU and packed with standard features like microHDMI input, 1.2 megapixels front facing camera, micro SD card slot, USB ports, and Ethernet. This is mean you can also use VCD22 to extend your desktop computer if you want.
How much that you need to pay for VCD22? Well, there is still no official statement from ViewSonic about this, but i will be happy if they offer this bulky Androids for $399. I might consider to buy one.
What do you think about this guys?
