How to Update LG Optimus One P500 with Android 4.0.4 Oxygen ROM

LG Optimus One P500 owners, this is a good day for you. Thanks to a XDA member named popdog123, your handset now can taste Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich! Please note that this is not an official release from Google (pretty obvious right?) and it come in a form of custom ROM called as Oxygen. Today, i will teach you how to install this amazing ICS based ROM on your Optimus One P500.

Once you finish the update process, your LG Optimus One will running on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. One thing that i love from Oxygen ROM is that the developer enable the OTA update process. This is mean that you don’t have to re-flash your handset each time a new version of the ROM released. But please note that Oxygen ROM is not packed with built-in theme chooser and FM Radio app. If you’re fine with this condition, then you should proceed to read my step by step installation guide below.

Before we start, make sure that your handset meet the following prerequisites:
- Installed with ClockworkMod Recovery
- Rooted
- Create backup of all your important files and setting since installing this update will automatically wipe all your data

Now, we can start the tutorial:

1. Grab Oxygen ROM for LG Optimus One P500 here
2. Move the package into the root folder of your SD Card
3. Power off your handset
4. Boot to Recovery Mode by pressing both Volume – and home button while simultaneously pressing the power button
5. Select Backup and Restore > Backup to start creating Nandroid backup
6. Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset
7. Navigate to Install Zip from SD Card > Choose Zip from SD Card > Select the Oxygen ROM package
8. Wait until the installation process to finish and select Go Back
9. Select Reboot System Now
