Samsung Galaxy Note II vs LG Optimus G
Samsung Galaxy Note II was officially announced at IFA 2012 in Berlin. The second generation of company’s phablet was manage to caught people’s attention since it was released with bigger display and latest android os, Jelly Bean. No wonder why there are lot of people out there are currently asking when the product will become available or for how much it will cost. Unfortunately, Samsung decide to say nothing about this.
But that doesn’t mean that Galaxy Note II left out without any competition guys. LG is recently unveil their latest Optimus G E973. According to the company, this handset will become available on late September. It is not as big as Galaxy Note II, but it’s 4.7″ touch screen is more than enough to make Optimus G stand out in the crowd.
So, which one of them that really worth your money? Let’s find out the answer on my side by side comparison below.
Display: Samsung Galaxy Note II is packed with 5.5″ Super AMOLED screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. In terms of density, Samsung claim that it is currently measured at 267ppi. On the other hand, LG Optimus G carry on 4.7″ True HD IPS + LCS capacitive touch screen. It is manage to provide similar resolution to Galaxy S II, but score higher in density test. Optimus G density measured at 318ppi. However, Galaxy Note II is resistant to scratch since it is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2
Internal memory: Samsung Galaxy Note II will be released in three different version. Customers are able to pick between 16/32/64GB internal data storage. All of them are packed with 2GB RAM. On the other hand, there is still no word about how Optimus G version that LG plan to release in the near future. But i can tell you that Optimus G is packed with 2GB RAM too or similar to Galaxy Note II. Both of these handsets is currently supported by microSD card slot.
Connectivity: Usual connectivity feature like WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, and USB are supported on both Galaxy Note II and LG Optimus G
Camera: Samsung Galaxy Note II packed with 8.0 megapixels rear shutter. If you want to initiate a nice video call session, you can take advantage from it’s 1.9 megapixels front-facing camera. On the other hand, LG Optimus G carry on better primary camera unit. It is currently measured at 13.0 megapixels! However, it has weaker 1.3 megapixels front-facing camera
OS, battery and processors: Samsung Galaxy Note II is currently running on Android 4.1 a.k.a Jelly Bean. On the other hand, LG Optimus G will be shipped with Android 4.0.4 Ice cream Sandwich, but an official Android 4.1 update is promised to become available by the end of this year. Deep under Galaxy Note II surface, you should be able to find quad-core Exynos processors that clocked at 1.6GHz and Mali 400MP. In the mean time, LG offer Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core krait processors and Adreno320 GPU.
Talk about battery unit, Galaxy Note II is a better handset since it has bigger 3,100mAh battery unit. On the other side, LG Optimus G only has 2,100mAh battery pack.
