Samsung and Apple were involved in a complicated patent battles since few months ago. Personally, i don’t really who will win on court, since hardware is all that matters for me. That is why i decide to look to their latest phone lineup. From Samsung, we have the mighty Galaxy S III. Probably the best Android phone around. On the other hand, Apple will soon introduce their new born baby, iPhone 5, this year. I know that iPhone 5 is not officially released yet, but since we have enough leaked specs, i am interested to compare it to Galaxy S III.
Who will win on this comparison battle? Let’s find out the answer on my explanation below.
Display. iPhone 5 is expected to carry on 4.0″ IPS screen with 1136 x 640 pixels resolution. On the other hand, Galaxy S III posses Super AMOLED screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It is currently sized at 4.8″. For me bigger display is better. It is quite easy to decide that Galaxy S III is the winner here.
OS. iPhone 5 will run on iOS 6. Announced few months ago, iOS 6 feature improved Siri and deep Facebook and Twitter integration. Apple also decide to toss Google Map from their system and provide their own navigation app. On the other hand, Galaxy S III posses Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, but it will be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon. Both of these OS comes with their own pros and cons. It’s hard to decide which one is better, so i think that it’s a tie.
Battery. iPhone 5 might come out with 1,150mAh battery unit. On the other hand, Galaxy S III is currently posses bigger 2,100mAh battery unit. Some say that iPhone 5 will support for 4G LTE connectivity, which should drain more battery life. That is why i can say that Galaxy S III will manage to last longer since it has bigger battery pack. But off course, it we need to run more specific battery test to prove it. I think that it’s a tie guys.
Processors and RAM. There is still no information about how much RAM that iPhone 5 will carry on. But i think that it won’t be too much different than the previous iPhone 4S, which packed with 1GB RAM. On the other hand, Galaxy S III posses similar amount of RAM. It is interesting to see who will manage to deliver better system performance.
So, which one is better? Since i like Android, needless to say that Galaxy S III is far much better. It is packed with the best open source mobile platform in the world. I can install custom ROM, which allow me to do some customization, even at extreme level. Can you do that with iOS? Yes you can, but it will take harder effort and much more time consuming. I don’t have time for that, so thanks. I will skip iPhone 5 and stick with my god-like Samsung Galaxy S III.tags: Compare, Galaxy S III, Iphone 5, SAmsung, Versus
