It comes with completely new interface that look match to Google’s latest UI. Quora for Android also offer push notification system, voice search integration, and auto location. I decide to pick my friend’s Nexus 7 to test this app. Overall, Quora for Android looks fine when it comes to UI. However, i think that there are still some room for tablet optimization. It will be better if the app feature side panel for easier navigation and multiple tab system. Thumbnails of answer and question are quite small. If i want to view all answers from a question, i need to move on to a new window to view specific posts. I think that could be improved in the future release. Single tap should be more than enough to expand the questions and see all answers.
Quora also offer possibility to put the app as widget into your homescreen. It will allow you to view latest popular answer on Quora. Some users might prefer something more personal, like constant updates for question that they are currently following, but i think that won’t happen until the next update.
This app also offer push notification system. It will automatically pop out when someone ask you a question, give answer, comment on your answer, send something to your inbox, and someone ask you to answer a question. Since this is a social network, you can also use standard features like sending message, follow new questions, checking credits, voting questions and more.
If you want to search for a specific question, you can use search bar that currently located on top of the app. For those of you who are feel to lazy to write a down a question, you can use the voice input mode. It is currently integrated with Android voice search function. Interested on adding pictures and photos? Then you should be happy with the fact that Quora is tied with your front face camera. You can add any image from your surrounding to make your question become more interesting.
Overall, Quora is a nice port from iOS to Android. The app is integrated really well to some Android elements. User interface is simple and easy to understand. However, just like i said earlier, Quora still have plenty room to grow when it comes to tablet optimization. I also notice that some of my friends are quite confuse to navigate between questions, because thumbnails size are too small.
