Ninja Fishing Review

Ninja Fishing might sounds like a game that just trying to get popularity from similar genre to Fruit Ninja. That is what i’m thinking when i saw Ninja Fishing for the first time at Google Play. Driven by the bored of SongPop and Cosmic Colony, i decide to give it a go. Then i realize that Ninja Fishing is deeper than the original game it’s trying to tied with. Well, it’s not fair to say that Ninja Fishing is not a clone of Fruit Ninja, but it has more than just slashing flying items on screen. Interested to find out more about this game? Then why don’t you read my complete review below.

Ninja Fishing-1

Ninja Fishing consist of three different elements to determine your best score. First, you will be presented with a visual of a ninja on a boat. Tap your finger on screen to drop your lure. When it’s already enter the water, you need to swipe right and left to avoid all fish. This is very important to get deeper into the water, so you will have the chance to get more fish. Just like real fishing, you can tap on screen to drill the lure back then move back with high speed to get through bunch of fish. For me, it’s like Doodle Jump formula, but in reverse view.

Once you already reach the bottom of the lake, your lure will go back in an extremely fast speed. Now, you need to catch all those fishes by tilting your handset right and left. Still like Doodle Jump, but this time, you are asked to hit all targets. Remember, you need to give your best reaction since this session happen really fast.

Ninja Fishing-2

Now, here comes the fun part. All fish that you already manage to caught under water will float around the air. You need to cut them in half by swiping your hands across the screen. This is where the Fruit Ninja part begin to take place. There are some fish that require double slash to be fully cut. If you need some help, Ninja Fishing also provide sets of dynamite. Just cut through this item and you will get an amazing blow that make your job easier. Not recommended on real fishing, but it’s quite fun to watch on this game. Points will be count based on the numbers of fish that you manage to slash. This is mean that all hard work on the first and second stage are just the foundation of overall gameplay.

I am quite impressed with this innovation, because what you’re doing on the previous stage will determine overall result. For instance, if you only manage to drop the lure 40 meters deep, then you won’t be able to get enough time to lure all fish. On the floating stage, there won’t be enough to fish to slash. The result? Pretty bad score that will motivate you to play this game again and again! Seriously, Fruit Ninja has potential to become a massive hit if it’s not titled with “Ninja” words. Let’s face it guys. Most users that read the game title will tend to skip this one because they think it’s just another Fruit Ninja clone.

There are some power ups available on this game. You will be able to throw your lure and slash faster with better fishing rod and swords. In order to grab all these valuable items, you need to use points that you earn within the game. Off course, you can use real money to buy some extras. But there is no need to worry guys, just by playing the game alone, you will get all points that you need to advance into the next stage on this game.

Overall, Ninja Fishing manage to bring quite improvement compared to it’s Fruit Ninja, although it seems like the developer doesn’t intend to copy the entire game formula. If you want a slash game that goes deeper than any other similar title, you should give Ninja Fishing a shot.
