Foodspotting for Android Review
Ever wonder what it feels like to have a special social network that created for food sharing? Well, now you’ve got a new Android app called as Foodspotting. Basically, it is an Instagram minus the ability to edit photos. You can share photo of foods that you’re currently eat with your Twitter or Facebook friends. I think it is a good idea to not include any editing features on this app. When it comes to food stuff, you better capture all it’s natural look just to see imagine how good is the food.
Once you install and launch Foodspotting on your Android handset, you will have to pick two different option. First, you can create new account for Foodstopping or second, use your Facebook account to login to the app. The app might ask you to authenticate your FB account before you are actually able to start using Foodspotting features.
Done with the registration? Foodspotting will present you with a picture of a food framed in a stamp like shape. It should be the latest photos shared by other members of foodspotting that happen to live nearby your location. You will be able to view other photos in three different categories: Latest, Best, and Wanted. Tap on the Latest section and you will be able to see all pictures that posted by fellow foodspotting members, whether he/she is living near your location or not. If you tap on a specific photo, some icons will pop out and allow you to do something to that picture. You can share it to other people, recommend it, tag it with “good shot”, and tag it with “good finding”.
On the other hand, best category will present you with all photos that feature users’s review. It should be very useful for those of you who want to try food pictured on the app. If you are happen to taste it recently, you can write down your review as well. Last but not least, the “Wanted” section will show you pictures that were tagged with wanted.
Foodspotting also allow you to determine your current location, thanks to GPS system that integrated with Google Map. Just like other social network sites, you will be able to follow a people or told other member to follow you back. The rest of icons and menu on Foodspotting are pretty self explanatory. If you’ve been using apps like Evernote or Instagram, you will feels like home when you use foodspotting.
Overall, Foodspotting would’ve been a perfect food sharing app if it was packed with complete information about local restaurant and what kind of dish that they serve. It should be good clue for the members to explore culinary world on their location, instead of finding good food using their own instinct. However, i still recommend you to install this app, because it has very slick and simple user interface. There is no problem with uploading and finding location until now. Foodspotting has been installed on my handset for couple of days and i think it will stay there for couple of months.
