Cosmic Colony Review

Cosmic Colony is a city building simulation game that using space as it’s main theme. If you already familiar with social games like CityVille or Sim City, you will feel like home when you navigate around Cosmic Colony. This game has rocket launchpad, mines, and other mysterious planet that you can explore in order to expand your city. Cosmic Colony has what it takes to make it considered as regular game on it’s genre. But i’m appreciate the fact that Gameloft manage to add some features that able to make Cosmic Colony different than other competitors.

Cosmic Colony-1

Just like usual, you will be presented with a plain ground to start with. Game will ask you to build some structure, just to demonstrate that you can harvest some money and social points when the building process complete. The more you build, more money you get since they will produce such things on specific period of time. But remember, you need to plan your daily activity really well since Cosmic Colony has an energy bar. Each time you finish a task, this bar will be reduced. Off course there are some mission that promise energy point as reward, but you can’t count on them. Once you drain all your energy, you won’t be able to do anything until the next three or four hours. Similar to CityVille, you can also visit other player’s city, swap items and buildings to make each other territory better.

Cosmic Colony-2

For those of you who already spend most of your Facebook times playing game like this, you will completely understand that mines are everything. You should have your scouts/workers to dig some golds and treasures on the exploration sites, so you will be able to build any required structures. But things are working differently on Cosmic Colony. Instead of using workers/characters to do the excavation, you will be presented with a simple slot machine to determine what kind of item that you will get from a mines. Off course it will depend on the purpose of the mine itself. This change has it pros and cons. It will save lot of time on mining, but on the other hand, you might won’t be able to get items that you need.

Like i said earlier, there are some missions that offer points, energy, and social as rewards. In rocket mission, you will fly your space shuttle to collect as many items that you can get on the blank dark space. But the most exciting of all is the pirate invasions missions. In this task, you will have to defend your city from all invading pirates by hack and slash them. How to do that? Just swipe your hands on screen. This is mean you will get a Fruit Ninja-like game with space theme!

Overall, Cosmic Colony is good city building simulation game. If you don’t have time to login to your Facebook account, just to play CityVille, this game will be a nice replacement. Although some of you might not appreciate the fact that collecting resource can takes some time.
