As i gadget reviewer, i often receive some emails that ask me about how to pick an Android handset? Which Android handset is the best around? Let me tell you this guys, there is no such thing like best Android phone. You’ve got to find it on your own since it will work differently for each person. For example, a guy with $100 budget would be happy to grab Motorola Droid 4, just like other person with high budget who recently buy a new Galaxy S III. It all depends on how much money you want to spend and how you want to use your handset. Be wise, and you should be able to pick the best Android phone for yourself.

Here is some useful tips from my side:

Look at the specs sheet. It is the most important part before you decide to pick a new phone. You should know the latest trend and compare it with the specs sheet of a handset that you’re currently want to purchase. For instance, most high end handsets these days are powered by quad-core CPU and posses 2GB RAM. If your handset is currently packed with hardware pieces that fall way behind this standard, i think you might want to skip it right away.

Do not judge phone by it’s price. What i’m trying to tell you about here is expensive price tag doesn’t guarantee that you will get better Android experience. Aside from big names like Samsung and HTC, there are smaller manufacturer like Huawei and Archos that offer fine Android product with nice after sales support. In fact, these products are often far cheaper than the one that released under big names. T-Mobile Springboard 7 is a good example for this. Priced way under Galaxy Tab, this tablet manage to bring incredible system performance.

Custom ROM support. Due to some unknown reason, not all Android handset receive direct OS support from their vendor or manufacturer. If you’re happen to have some interest on such device, you better start looking for information if custom ROM like CyanogenMod or MIUI are currently compatible for it. This will be a good alternative for those of you who worry about the update support. But please note guys that using custom ROM will automatically void your warranty. But that’s better than running on 2 years old Android right?
