September 7, 2012 John Reyvaldi Review

Gamers should watch out for two brand new tablet this year. They are WikiPad and Archos GamePad. Both of them are currently running on Android system with built-in gaming pad. This is mean that you will be able to experience the best gaming with those two. However, i can’t tell your for sure which one of them is better device since both of them are not available in the market yet.

Fortunately, i have some detailed leak about specs of each tablet. That is why today, i decide to present you with a quick comparison between WikiPad and GamePad, just to provide you with a glimpse on how these two tablets will crush on each other. Ready to read my complete comparison? Join me right after the break.

WikiPad

Display: WikiPad will sports 10.1″ capacitive touch screen. There is still no information about maximum resolution that it is able to provide, but should be able to find it out within months. On the other side, Archos GamePad packed with smaller 7.0″ screen. The company still refuse to tell me about the resolution or what kind of technology that they use on this part.

OS: WikiPad is currently running on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. Not the latest ICS version, but that should be good enough to run high-end android games like Asphalt 6 or Infinity Blade II. Same as WikiPad, Archos GamePad will run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as well. Both of them should be upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Processors and Memory: WikiPad will be powered by quad-core Tegra 3 processors. It should be more than enough to provide you with all power that you need to execute graphics demanding games like Riptide. It is also supported with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal data storage. There’s a microSD card slot that allow you to expand the memory up to 64GB. On the other side, GamePad might not meet your expectation since it only has dual-core 1.5GHz processors with Mali 400 quad-core GPU. Sounds weaker, but that is the something that Archos need to sacrifice in order to come out with affordable product. In addition, they also include 8GB internal memory that expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Archos GamePad

Connectivity: WikiPad is said to offer 3G, WiFi, micro USB, and HDMI connectivity. There is no more detailed information on this. Again, we should be able to found out more when WikiPad decide to unveil the tablet on the next few months. I am sure that they won’t miss the Black Friday event. On the other side, Archos said that GamePad will support for mini HDMI connectivity, but they refuse to tell us about other details.
