Sony Xperia Ion Priced at $651 in India
Sony Xperia Ion was officially announced on January. Seven months later, the handset now ready to start it’s adventure in India. This should be a great news for those of you who are happen to live there.
Local retailer known as Snapdeal is currently ask Rs 35,999 for it. If you refer to today’s exchange rate, that would be equal to $651. If their claim is true, then you should be able to find it reach your doorstep in 10 days. Sony Xperia Ion was released with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on-board. Strangely, Snapdeal said that it is currently work under Android 2.3 Gingerbread. I believe that there is a typo here since the same handset that was released in China on June is also running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
However, unlike Canadian and US Sony Xperia LTE, the Indian version of the handset is not packed with 4G LTE Radio. This is very understandable since such network is not supported by any local carrier yet on the country. But there’s no need to worry guys, the rest of it’s hardware specs are remain unchanged. Sony Xperia Ion is still posses 4.55″ touch screen with HD resolution. Deep under it’s hood, lies 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal data storage. This handset is also feature 12.0 megapixels rear shutter and 1,900mAh battery unit.
