Intel-powered smartphone is not something that you usually see on the shelves of famous retailers. However, this fact might about to change in the next few years. Maybe not in 2012 or even 2013, but i am pretty sure that Intel won’t stop giving up on their ambition to conquer mobile device industry. Just like they’ve already did with the desktop and PC platform.
We’ve already seen some Intel powered handset released few months ago. Names like Lava XOLO X900, Orange San Diego, and Lenovo K800 might sounds unfamiliar for some of you. That is probably the main reason why Intel-powered phone is still unable to atttract customer’s attention. They’re lacks of interesting feature and Intel seems failed to persuade big names like Samsung and HTC to adopt x86 chip. However, this fact doesn’t make Russian carrier MegaFon to pick an Intel based Android handset as part of their lineup. Introduce as “Mint”, this smartphone is currently powered by Intel Atom Z460 processors. This is mean that MegaFon is currently follow the same path as Orange to release their own-brand Intel device.
For those of you who interested, MegaFon Mint is currently priced at 17,990 rubles or equal to $565/€455.
In terms of specs, MegaFon Mint can be considered as standard Android phone. There is nothing impressive from it. The handset is currently powered by 1.6GHz single-core Atom CPU. In terms of display, you will get no less than 4.03″ touch screen with 600 x 1024 pixels resolution. Other important features that you might want to know include 1GB RAM, 8.0MP rear shutter, 1.3MP webcam, 16GB internal memory, and 1,460 mAh battery unit. But what make me disappoint most is the fact that MegaFon Mint is still running on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread.
Well, that is all i can tell you right now guys. What do you think about this? Is there some of you here interested to order MegaFon Mint?tags: Android, Android 2.3.7, Atom, CPU, Gingerbread, Intel, MegaFon, Mint, price, release, Russia
