Pinterest for Android Review

There are lot of web pages out there that able to fulfil your need to socialize like Facebook, Twitter, or Google+. However, if you’re looking for a great image sharing website, there is no better alternative than Pinterest. This website has become extremely popular right now and the developer decide to expand their coverage by releasing official app for Android, iPhone, and iPad few weeks ago. So, how’s this mobile Pinterest work compared to it’s desktop version? Let’s find out the answer in my complete review here.

Pinterest-1

Once you complete the download process and launch Pinterest for Android, the app will ask you to enter your account information. This process is quite easy. Even if you don’t use Pinterest before, you can sign in using your Facebook account. Once you done this process you will be asked to pick few random pictures. This way, Pinterest will be able to determine what kind of pictures that you like, which in turn should lead you into the right “pin”. There is no need to worry if you don’t find any images that you like, you can use search engine function and look for your favorite image on your own. Unfortunately, Pinterest for Android is not allow you to upload pictures directly from your handset. If you ever heard some third party app like Photo Uploader, don’t even bother to try. It is not work at all and will waste $0.99 of your money.

In terms of design and layout, Pinterest for Android is quite similar to the desktop version. First time you open the app, you will be presented with thumbnails of few images and pictures. Tap on the sharing menu and there should be lot of categories button pop out on your screen. This is mean that the Android version of Pinterest is really effective to search for previous pins and images uploaded by other users. It work really well for me. You can view photo directly. Even the iPad version of Pinterest won’t allow you to do such thing.

I must admit that i new to Pinterest, but i really like the idea of pinning and sharing images with other users. If you love to organize your pins and photo collections, Pinterest for Android is a great app. However, i hope that developer will add a special button/function that allow us to upload images directly. Pardon me if i’m wrong, but it seem that i can’t find any button or function that lead to that feature. If you compare it to the PC version, you shouldn’t miss the ADD button on the top righ corner that allow you to upload new pics within seconds.

Overall, Pinterest for Android is a great app. It is more than capable to handle most of your “Pinterest need” and i am really thank the developer for allowing this app to not use the built-in browser.

So, what do you think about this guys? Interested to use Pinterest for Android? You can download it for free here.
