How to Open Outlook Mail on Android

For those of you who considered yourself as a casual android users, you might find that Gmail access is more than enough to fulfill all your email need. But if you’re working in an enterprise environment, there is no doubt that you need mobile Outlook mail access. So, does this mean that you need to throw away your Android and buy new Windows Phone device? Nope. Today, i am gonna teach you how to setup Outlook mail account, so that you can open it via Android.

First, you need to install Microsoft’s Hotmail app. It is now available on both Amazon Appstore and Google Play store. Hit one of those link and start the download process. The moment after you finish the installation, tap on the app icon to initiate Microsoft Hotmail for Android.

We need to sign in to your Outlook account. Enter your address and password like usual. You should e able to gain access to your Outlook mail now. The app will ask you to adjust few settings, like how much email do you want to see per week and what kind of nickname that you want to use to call your account. Microsoft’s Hotmail app also allow you to disable push email downloading and revert into manual mode. As soon as you done with these setup, tap “Next” button at the bottom.

Now, the app will ask you to synchronize all your contacts and calendar file. Put the check mark in these two options and press next. However, you will soon notice that Microsoft’s Hotmail app is only work for contact and mail. If you want to make your Outlook calendar accessible via android calendar, you need to download another third-party app, that is something that i am pretty sure that you can find easily at Google Play store. Off course you can do similar thing if you want to view your mail contact on your Android’s People app.

Well, that is all i can tell you right now. You should have already start to receive constant hotmail message on your Android right now. Remember to do regular sync is possible.
