Samsung and HTC Talk About Jelly Bean Update

Soon after Android 4.1 Jelly Bean get official announcement from Google last week, some Android users around the world were getting anxious. Why? are you kidding?! latest statistics shows that there are less than 3% of Android devices around the world that running on Ice Cream Sandwich. With the release of Jelly Bean, the road will getting longer for any users that want their device to run on the latest version of Android OS. Sigh.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Google noted that Jelly Bean will be released as OTA update for other Nexus device like Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Xoom. Lucky for you who are happen to own one of those devices.

In the mean time, two big players from the Android industry, Samsung and HTC, are recently announce the Jelly Bean update for some of their product lineup. The Korean company said that this tasty candy should be available for some of their android lineup “soon”. On the other hand come out with the following statement.

“We are excited about Android Jelly Bean and are planning to support it across a variety of our devices. We are reviewing the software to determine our upgrade plans and schedule, so please stay tuned for more updates on specific device upgrade plans.”

Well, i have no idea about which one of HTC or Samsung device that will receive Jelly Bean update. However, my quick analysis suggest that all phone that capable of running Android 4.0 will taste the tasty candy Jelly Bean soon. The new OS is currently build based on Android 4.0 framework, so there should be no problem to update such device with the new Jelly Bean.
