July 17, 2012 John Reyvaldi Android News

LG is ready to take on Samsung’s position in order to provide Verizon with a S-Pen compatible Android device. Previously, Big Red was rumored to pick Galaxy Note and release it as “Galaxy Journal“. However, we’ve already reach the third quarter of 2012 right now and there’s no official words about that. In fact, today a new leaked image come to my desk today and it’s feature LG Optimus Vu with Verizon’s logo on it! Just like Note, Optimus Vu is also a big handset with it’s own stylus. It is sport 5.3″ touch screen and recently make it’s way to FCC headquarter.

First time i saw LG Optimus Vu was at MWC 2012 in Barcelona (read my review). It sports 5.0″ IPS touch screen with 720p resolution. I’m not too interesting in phone with big display, so i’m fine with that size, although there might be some of you think that it is still not big enough to take on Galaxy Note. Anyway, LG Optimus Vu is currently powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU and 1GB RAM. In order to guarantee for high-quality 3D graphics, LG also used Adreno 220 GPU on it. Other interesting details include 8.0 megapixels rear shutter and Android 4,0 Ice Cream Sandwich on-board.

Just like i’ve said you earlier, i’m not a great fan of big android phone. It is too hard for me to handle with single hand. However, i must admit that they provide me with better typing accuracy since the touch buttons are also bigger. But, if i have to purchase a bulky Android handset this year, i prefer to wait Samsung release Galaxy Note 2. According to rumors, the Korean based company will announce it at November. They want to anticipate the release of iPhone 5!

What about you? Vu or Note 2?
