Sony Xperia U and Xperia P Come to Australia
Sony Xperia U and Xperia P have already get an official announcement in Australia yesterday. Both of them will be the second Android smartphone from Sony that released without Sony-Ericsson brand. If you follow the news about Sony’s overtake on the partnership, you’ll also realize that xperia S is the first handset from the company that remove the old branding.
Sony Xperia U and Xperia P, alongside with Xperia S, were showcased for the first time at CES 2012 in Vegas few months ago as NXT series phone. Both of them are powered by 1.0GHz dual-core processors and running on Android Gingerbread OS. But there’s no need to worry, an official Android 4.0 update is on it’s way this year.
One of the biggest selling point from Xperia P (read our review) is the “White Magic” display. It allow you to experience better view under direct sunlight exposure with the addition of extra white subpixels on other common pixels like red, white, and blue. This handset is also packed with a kick-ass camera unit measured at 8.1 megapixels. On the opposite side, you should be able to do a web chatting session using the front-facing VGA camera. Deep under it’s chassis, lies a full gigabyte of RAM and 16GB internal data storage. Not to mention that it is also support for NFC and SmartTag connectivity.
On the other hand, Sony Xperia U (read our review) is packed with 3.5″ touch screen. Same as it’s siblings, this handset is also come with dual-camera unit. 5.0 megapixels on back and VGA camera on front.
Both of them should be available for purchase on Sony’s official stores in Australia. Xperia U will be priced at $299, while the Xperia P will be yours for $449.
