BlackBerry 10 OS is promised to bring whole new experience to users. This enterprise-oriented OS has been spotted in the web few months ago and we’ve never heard anything about it until now. According to RIM’s spokeswoman who spoke to Associated Press, the new BlackBerry handset with BB 10 OS will feature no physical keyboard. This is mean that the device will completely rely on touch based control system, just like Google’s Galaxy Nexus.
But this statement is not too surprising since RIM already showcased the Dev Alpha Device to demonstrate BB 10 OS few weeks ago and it’s also feature no physical keyboard. What makes it interesting is that the BB 10 built-in keyboard app will be packed with new word prediction system. As users type a specific words, the keyboard will come with series of suggested entry next to the letters sequence.
However, some analyst doubt that this idea will bring positive advantage to RIM. Colin Gillis, an analyst of BGC Financial, told that one of RIM’s biggest power is the physical keyboard. That is a special feature that separate RIM from other company. On the other side, the rest of smartphone industry is now already move to non-physical keyboards. HTC already make an announcement that they have no intention in returning back to the physical form, while Apple already toss the bulky keyboard feature since few years ago.
