MediaTek Launch Dual-Core MT6577 Chipset at I/O 2012

MediaTek is currently listed as an exhibitor at Google I/O Conference 2012 in San Fransisco and they’re recently announce the arrival of a new platform. This Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device is dubbed as MT6577. Powered by dual-core processors, MediaTek ask less than $200 for it.

MediaTek MT6577 is powered by dual-core Cortex ARM 1.0GHz dual-core processors and PowerVR Series5 SGX CPU. It is support for 3G and HSPA connectivity, thanks to the MediaTek’s internal modem and just like we’ve alreday mention before, the device is currently run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. MT6577 is able to playback 1080p HD video without any problem since it is manage to provide maximum 1280 x 720 pixels resolution display.

The MT6577 is part of the MediaTek’s target to supply market with inexpensive yet reliable chipset. Just like their previous product, this one will be targeted for emerging markets in South America and Asia. Previously, MediaTek has seal partnership with Lenovo, Alcatel, and few other China based company to market their products.

    “…provide maximum 1280 x 720 pixels resolution display.” how does it suport 1080p??? 1080p has s screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels!!!
