Android vs Apple, we can talk about it all day without finding any solid conclusion. Thats’s why we need to compare both of them in a specific aspect, durability for example. SquareTrade is think about something similar to us. That’s why they decide to do a drop test to iPhone 4S and Samsung’s latest Android handset, Galaxy S III. So, are you ready to find out the result? Then join us here for more detailed explanation.
As we mentioned above, this drop test is performed by our friends at SquareTrade. They simulate some drop scenarios, which include fall from ear-height, drop from the roof of a car, and a situation when a child hold your phone and throw it away to the air. iPhone 4S manage to survive with minor ding to it’s corner on the ear-drop test. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S III’s glass is heavily teared.
Again iPhone 4S was manage to survive with minor damage on the roof car test, while Galaxy S III still receive similar amonunt of wreck like the first test. However, the Apple’s flagship handset is unable to make it until the end when SquareTrade hand it to a pre-school kids. The underneath layer of glass is completely damaged, but the front glass manage to survive. On the other side, Samsung Galaxy S III’s rear cover and battery unit is tear apart, but the front glass is still intact.
Overall, this is mean that Apple is manage to create better device with greater durability than Samsung. However, you should notice that iPhone 4S screen is only sized at 3.5″, while Galaxy S III posses 4.8″. This is mean that iPhone 4S is taking less damage than Galaxy phone. You must also remember that the result may vary, depends on the ground surface and condition.
