Amazon Appstore Open in UK Soon
We’ve already told you yesterday that Amazon will open it’s Appstore in Europe this year. UK is one of the region that scheduled to become the company’s target of expansion. Jim Adkinds, Amazon Appstore Chief, said that they’re excited to open the door to app sales outside US. He added that Amazon see tremendous potential for developers to grow with this international expansion. Amazon also encourage new developers to join them, he added.
In order to attract more developers to create app for Amazon Appstore, the company explained that the app will be available in local languages and currencies. Amazon hope that this will become a great bargain for any new developers who look forward to publish their developed apps.
Amazon Appstore will face tough competition with Play store. The official Android marketplace is already implemented in almost any android device that available in Europe right now since the OS itself was come out from Google’s engineering lab. Meanwhile, other analyst suggest that this expansion is just a preparation step for the company to release Kindle Fire tablet in the continent. As you might already know, that affordable 7″ tablet is now already become the best-selling android tablet around the world. No wonder why Amazon decide to seek more fortune by bring it to other market. Not to mention that the tablet is also shipped with Amazon Appstore on board.
Just like Apple with it’s iTunes store for iPad, iPod, and iPhone, Amazon was already succeed in creating a close environment with the great combination between Kindle Fire and Amazon Appstore. Not to mention that the appstore is also well-known for it’s promotional app, which allow users to download a popular app with discounted price on each day. This kind of offer will make Appstore become more popular in Europe.
