Samsung Galaxy S III Released! Not as Powerful as Expected.
Today is the day folks! Samsung is indeed kept their promise by release the “Next Galaxy” handset in London today. Just like everyone were expected, this device turns out to be Galaxy S III. Just like HTC One X, it seems like this handset will become a great representative for an Android smartphone this year.
In terms of display, Samsung Galaxy S III sports 4.8 inch Super AMOLED screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution display. Just as predicted before, it is currently powered with quad-core Exynos CPU that clocked at 1.4GHz. WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, WiFi Direct, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, NFCm and GPS connectivity are all supported. There are also dual-camera unit. 8.0 megapixels with zero shutter lag and 1080p recording on back and 1.9 megapixels web camera with 720p recording on front. The rest of it’s technical details include 2,100 mAh battery unit, microSD card slot, micro SIM, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung TouchWiz 4.0.
Well, that’s all. No ceramic body, 12.0 megapixels super rear shutter, or HD touch screen with 1080p resolution. Overall, this handset packed with hardware specs that similar to HTC One X. To be honest, the design is look little bit odd. It seems like that Samsung put all effort to make this device free from any kind of patent suit. There’s a big empty space between the bottom side of the device and the touch screen. This is instantly make Galaxy S III looks taller that it’s predecessors, while on the other hand, Samsung already claim that the bezel are slimmer than before.
But please note that it is not Samsung’s fault that Galaxy S III is not as powerful as expected before. You know that all of this hype are all caused by high expectation that build around by plenty of android enthusiast around the world. The fact that Samsung has been holding on for official statement about this handset, make people think that Galaxy S III will indeed become the “god” of android smartphone. We must admit that Galaxy S III rumors are floating around the web on the same rate when Apple is reported to develop iPhone 4.
So, there you go, Samsung Galaxy S III is packed with similar hardware configuration as HTC One X. It is not more powerful than any other handset, but at least that you’ve got different experience when it comes to software.
The latest Samsung TouchWiz feature some good gimmicks, including face unlock, eye tracking, voice command, and automatic calling answer mode. The last feature that we mention works in an amazing way. The device will recognize if you bring the device close to your face, then you want to accept a phone call. Then the system will do the call receiving command automatically. Cool isn’t it?
If everything goes according to plan, the handset should be available for purchase on May 29th in Europe. Soon after that, the device will continue it’s adventure to other market. Please note that the 4G LTE version, the one that you must’ve been waiting for, will be available in Japan, North America, and South Korea this summer.
