New Android Malware Disguised as Security App!
As you might already know, there are plenty of new trojan and malicous software that infect Android devices via unapproved App Store or website. The latest kind of this threat disguised itself as a security app. Instead of providing you with legit anti virus, this threat will automatically infect your android handset with malware.
This news was retrieved from Symantec report. Both of us know that malware is already become a common thing in Android ecosystem. We are also fully informed that most of them are make themself looks like a real games or apps from third party store or website. However, this new kind of malware infect the device via malicious web page, which in turn lead you to install the malware by yourself.
Android.Noncompatible, this is what the new threat is currently called. It is able to redirect the data traffic from an infected device to an external source, as reported by Symantec. That’s why the security company advised all android user to be more careful. Don’t try to download any antivirus or app that comes out from website pop-out. In addition, Symantec also noted that this kind of pop-out are not only appear in one type of website. In fact, the company said that religious website are often tend to become the house of malware than the porn sites.
So far, the threat has only been found on four infected web page. However, there’s a great chance that it will spread all over the Internet in no time. In order to see if there’s a new-real update for your handset, you can navigate to Settings > About Phone > Updates. Remember, it is important not to download unofficial system update, unless you’re 100% sure that the source is trusted.
