Engadget confirms that the update is already start to roll out today. In other words, it takes nearly a month before the new firmware finally reach US. As we mention earlier, this update is only available for the owners of unlocked Samsung Galaxy S II. If you’re happen to own it, just go to Settings > About > Update. Your phone should pop-out a notification that tell you the update is already available now. All you have to do is tap on the download button and let the phone do the rest of the job.

However, if you expect new layout for your device, you will be disappointed. This new update brings no significant impact on it. The Samsung’s TouchWiz UI still looks pretty much the same, with the addition of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich features of course.

So, what about the network-locked version of Galaxy S II? Well, last time we check, Sprint is currently run a test on the Android 4.0 update for Epic 4G Touch on February. However, we haven’t heard anything from them until now. On the other hand, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are practically say nothing about this.

But there’s no need to worry folks. There’s a chance that the update will be pushed out before the arrival of new Galaxy S III. If everything goes according to plan, the company will unveils the handset at their own home soil in May 3rd. The handset is currently spotted on a leaked video that shows it’s running on Android 4.0 ICS and new TouchWiz UI.
