How to Install Android 4.0.4 Update to Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first android smartphone in the world that run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich since it’s first day. Not only that, being a Nexus handset means that this phone will be on top priority to receive any new update from Google and it just happen recently. The giant search company was issued the Android 4.0.4 update for the International GSM version of the handset last week. Today, we will teach you how to install it folks!
Please note that this tutorial is only applicable for Galaxy Nexus GSM/HSPA+ unit GT-I9250 with code name yakju and product name maguro. We are not recommend any attempt to apply this update to other variant of the handsets. Now, without any more delay, let’s start the tutorial right away.
1. Grab the Android 4.0.4 for Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250, ClockworkMod Recovery (rename it to cwm.img), Adb Fastboot Win, and Command prompt shortcut (you can rename this file to commandprompt.bat)
2. Extract the ADB and fastboot file into your computer. AS the result, you should retrieve adb.exe and fastboot.exe files
3. Move the cwm.img file to the same folder where adb.exe is currently located
4. Move the commandprompt.bat into the same folder that adb.exe is located
5. Plug in your handset into the computer and copy the Android 4.0.4 file into the root folder of your SD card
6. Now, turn of your phone. Enter bootloader mode by press and hold both Volume + and Volume – buttons, while simultaneously press the power button
7. Again, connect your Galaxy Nexus to the computer via USB cable
8. Execute the commandprompt.bat file in your computer
9. Type the following command
./fastboot boot cwm.img
10. Your Galaxy Nexus should boot automatically into Recovery Mode
11. Now turn your attention to your handset. Select Install zip from SD card, continue with Choose zip from SD card and select the Android 4.0.4 file. The installation process should take up to 5 minutes
12. When it’s done, your phone will automatically reboot
