HCL launches two new budget tablets; starts at Rs 7,999
New Delhi: HCL Infosystems Ltd as one of the smartphones manufacturer in India releases two new tablets – the HCL ME U1 and the HCL MyEdu Tab. The HCL ME U1 uses Android OS 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and has a 1GHz processor. It features 7-inch, capacitive touchcreeen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. It also has a 0.3 megapixel front camera and 512MB RAM DDR3. The U1 tablet has an internal storage space of 4GB, which can be expandable up to 32GB. It also has a full USB, mini USB Port and a micro SD card slot. The tablet is priced at Rs 7999. It provides an option of 3G data connectivity through USB Modem. The U1 also provides for Wi-fi connectivity.
In the other hand, the MyEduTab tablet expected to fulfill the learner needs acroos schools and higher education institutions. It has two variants – MyEduTab–K12 and MyEduTab-Higher Education(HE). The price for the MyEduTab – K12 version is Rs 11,499, which includes the price of the device, content and a memory card while educational applications and NCERT books will be free. Furthermore, the MyEduTab – Higher Education (HE) version is priced at Rs 9,999, which which will include the device, educational content and online certification pack. The MyEduTab specifications will and nearly similar to U1.
Both tablets will be available across the country from April 2012 onwards.
