How to Root Sony Xperia Arc S in Simple Way
Today, we decided to provide a full-detailed tutorial to root Sony Xperia Arc S android smartphones. Rooting is an attempt to unlock the phone’s protection in order to gain super user access into the handset’s system file. It will bring users lot of benefit, including extreme level of modification like installing new OS or overclocking the processors. But, you must completely aware that rooting your handset will automatically void your warranty. So you might want to think twice before you do this.
The following guide is only applicable for Sony Xperia Arc S phone that installed with firmware version 2.3.4. So, you should find another tutorial if your Xperia Arc S is currently run on older or newer firmware.
Before we begin the tutorial, make sure that you’ve done these following things:
-Unlock the bootloader file of your Xperia Arc S
-Make Backup of all your important files, including sms, contacts, apps, videos, photos, and settings
-Charge your Xperia Arc S to 60% or above
-Navigate to Settings > Applications > Development > and enable the USB Debugging mode
When you’re done with all that stuffs, we can start the rooting process right away
Rooting Instruction
1. Press Menu key, go to Setting, continue with About Phone, and select the Model Number and Build Number. You should see the firmware displayed as [4.0.1.A.0.283]. This is necessary to make sure that your phone is compatible with this tutorial
2. Grab the pre-rooted Android 2.3.4 and fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.rar. Save them both in your computer
3. Turn off your handset
4. Extract the fastboot .rar file. You should get two different folder named as fastboot and USB driver. Remember the ftf file that you’ve already download on the first step? You have to move it to this fastboot folder
5. Now, turn your attention back into your phone. Press and hold Menu button while plug in your phone into your computer
6. The LED light should turn into blue
7. Open the fastboot folder
8. Press Shift key and click on the empty space inside the fastboot folder. This actions should make a command prompt launch
9. Type the following command
fastboot flash system LT15i_4.0.1.A.0.283_Generic_Global_system.img
10. Press enter and you should see a “finished” message in the command prompt
11. Unplug your handset and turn it on
12. Grab the Superuser app from the Android Market and you’re done
