There’s plenty of rugged Android handset available in the market, but there’s not many of them that manufactured by Samsung. The Korean company seems to think that the market needs for more durable handset in this uncertain world, that’s why they come out with the new Samsung Rugby Smart.

Currently priced at $99.99, this handset is rated at IP67. This is mean that Rugby Smart should be able to survive from up to 3 feet drops and manage to work under water for about 30 minutes. Samsung also claimed that Rugby Smart is completely resistant to dust, heavy rain, extreme temperatures, and drop to a rough surfaces.

Rugby Smart‘s dimension is measured at 4.8 x 2.5 x 0.5 inches, making it a quite small handset. It also feature lightweight profile. This android smartphone is only weighs at 4.2 ounces.

Rugby Smart will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. When it comes to display, this handset sports 3.7 inch screen with Super AMOLED display technology. Deep under it’s tough armor plate, you’ll find 4GB internal data storage. It is expandable up to 32GB using the microSD card slot.

Samsung Rugby Smart will receive direct support from AT&T. This handset is fully compatible with the company’s 4G LTE network. For those of you who interested with camera unit, Samsung Rugby Smart posses a primary 5.0 megapixels rear shutter and 1.3 megapixels webcam.
