Sony is currently has lot of android handset on their current lineup with Xperia series. The Japanese company determined to expand the series with more reliable and sophisticated device. After officially announced Xperia S and Xperia Ion at CES 2012, Sony plan to bring some more Xperia device to Mobile World Congress next month. Sony Nypon is one of them. Currently code named as LT22i, our friends at GSM Arena believe that this device will be dubbed as Sony Xperia P when it is officially announced.
It seems like Sony intend to follow Samsung’s path by using a single moniker for it’s device name. Samsung has pick “Galaxy” for their products, while Sony decide to keep the “Xperia” name intact. Naming is one of the important issue on the mobile tech industry. Aside from representing your brand, it is also pretty useful if consumers can easily remember the name of your product. For example, Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is clearly a better and inspiring name than Galaxy S II LTE.
Sony Nypon/Xperia P will be one of the first android handset that released after Sony break their partnership with Ericsson.
