Ice Cream Sandwich update for Transformer Prime was officially released for public download, back on Tuesday. This is few days earlier from the pre-announced update schedule for US and Taiwan region. However, some Transformer Prime users report that they are failed to grab the ICS for their tablet. According to XDA Developer Forum, the device prevent them from downloading the update and they get an error messages.
Fortunately, Asus is completely aware of this issue and promise to deal with it immediately. This news was retrieved from Gary Key’s posting. Keys is the company’s technical-marketing manager. Yesterday, the post was updated and he do similar thing today.
According to Key, users should initiate a factory reset and let their Transformer Prime turned on with WiFi mode for approximate 15 minutes. This steps will make sure that the tablet has sufficient time to synchronize with Asus’s servers. The update should pop out automatically, but users are also can check them manually. If none of this steps works, Key suggest users to send him a private message on the forum complete with the error serial number.
Key also come out with some explanation about screen lockup and corruption problem after download and install the ICS update. He noted that Asus was able to replicate this issues and the company is currently develop certain patch to fix the glitches.
On the other side, original Transformer tablet owners must wait a little bit longer for their own ICS update. According to Asus Official Facebook account, the update was finished already but now it is still being in the process for Google’s approval.
