Samsung Galaxy Nexus Will Receive New Update to Fix Signal Strength Problem

Verizon really takes long time before they finally release their latest Android smartphoneSamsung Galaxy Nexus. Now, the Big Red is seems busy with providing updates to fix some bugs and problems that are recently reported. Another software update will be available for Galaxy Nexus. This time it will fix the signal strength problem, as officially stated by Verizon on Wednesday.

According to Brenda Raney, Verizon can’t tell when is the update will be available but it is seems that it should be start to roll-out on January next year.

Still from Raney, the Verizon employee stated that there’s no performance issue with Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This statement is based on an email that she wrote. Users have their own theory. They said that signal strength issue might related to extreme battery drain issue.

Raney also said that this new update will adjust signal strength indicator to more closely match to other Verizon device. Galaxy Nexus use different method to translate phone signal, she added.

Recently, lot of users reported that they experience strange signal problem while using Samsung Galaxy Nexus unit in Los Angeles. The signal was shown in 2 bars 4G, then drop to no signal, and sometimes it turn to 3G network. Nexus is able to work under 4G connection, even with the zero signal condition, but it just can’t handle music streaming service like Pandora.
