Android boss, Andy Rubin, talk to AsiaD that user are should talk to other people rather than their phone. This is also a direct assault to iOS Siri, which allow user to input commands using their voice. But that negative comment didn’t stop Dexetra, an Android development team, to build an Siri imitation apps. They decide to called the project “Iris”. It only took them 8 hours to release first Alpha release, and with the new Ice Cream Sandwich, the apps should be much improved.
The developer started to built Iris on Friday, after hearing people talked about Siri almost anywhere. So they decided to make something similar for Android. They have a great faith that they’re able to pull this off because they’ve been working on NLP and machine learning for over a year. One week later the alpha release is ready. To test this the Dexetra representative asked Iris how’s she feel today. Iris responded in a female voice with an “oi”. After few dumb question, the test ended with a question “Do you have emotion Iris?”. The program respon “Yes”, “I Do have emorion”. Whoa, great job guys.
If you’re interested to have an nice conversation with Iris, you can take her here. Oh, and don’t forget to check the comparison video below. Take care.tags: Android, Android Market, Apple, Application, developer, iOS, iris, Siri, voice
