How To Use Skype Video/Voice Calls on your Android/iOS device.

Skype is maybe one of your best selection for video and voice chatting application. It’s available both for Android and iOS for mobile device user. The Android version of Skype does support video chat, but it’s not available for all device. This is bad for some user, since Skype offer cost-free calls to other Skype account. Plus you can make International Call with low-rate price using WiFi connection or device’s data plan. But don’t worry, here’s some steps to use Skype for video/voice chat on your Android phone.

First, you need to install Skype. For you iOS users you can find it here and for Android user just navigate here. Android version of Skype support Android device such as, Samsung’s Nexus S, Galaxy S, Droid Charge, Tab 7; HTC’s Desire, Incredible S, Evo 4G, ThunderBolt, Flyer; Sony Ericsson’s Xperia PLAY; LG’s Revolution and Optimus Black; and Motorola’s Droid 3, Atrix, Xoom, and Photon. Android user may offered with two type of Skype, Skype for Android and Skype Mobile Verizon. If you’re on contract agreement with Verizon for your data plan, then you should download Verizon version. For the rest of Android user, just download the first version. One more thing, Verizon’s skype didn’t allow you to make domestic call but you can make international call with 3G or WiFi connection. On the other hand, Android Skype allow you to do them both.

Second step is to setup Skype. Tap to open the apps, sign in to your account (or sign up if you don’t have one). Then you’ll be taken to contact list, you can choose either sync contact from phone or no sync. If you choose the first option, you’ll be able to call your buddy directly from Skype apps.

There’s four main button in the Skype main interface. “Recent” is to view your missed call or latest phone number you’ve been dialed. Tap “Call Phone” if you want to call physical phone contact. And “profile” is for update your status message and profile.

For iOS user, once you tap-open skype you’ll automatically prompted to sign-in interface. There’s no option to make new account. If you don’t have one, you must access Skype website in order to sign-up. The iOS version have four main tabs such as Contact, Messages, Call and MyInfo. “Messages” allow you to send instant message to your Skype buddy and “MyProfile” is for set up your profile and buy Skype credits.

Third step is to make call. Simply choose contact, tap on their name, tap on “calls” and you’re good to go. If you want to make regular phone line call, just type your contact number (don’t forget to add “country codes”) and make your call. The process will automatically prompted to your Skype credit. The call will be cost by per minute-rate.
