If we look a few months back, we can see that the Android market was full of SNES emulators and a few ROMs. As you might have known already, those emulators and ROMs were unofficial. Their unofficial status was strengthened by the actions Google took to pull them from the Android market. It was such a tragic thing for SNES emulator fans.
Well, it seems that the tide has turned back, since Nintendo is finally developing and growing its wings for both Android and iOS. This is quite confusing, since Nintendo just announced its new device to compete against Android and iOS, just as I said on one of my previous posts. The DS lines, including the Game Boy, also have always become rivals for Android and iOS games. It could be either Nintendo has given up on the competition or Nintendo wants to dominate the mobile gaming too through Android and iOS platforms.
Well, let’s stop guessing about it and talk about what Nintendo has given to Android and iOS. The official foray for those two platforms is an app called “Pokemon Say Trap?”. As the name suggests, it is about Pokemon, but the genres are card game and rhythm game. Well, it is quite interesting, since it is something from Nintendo, but I am sure many people won’t really like it, especially those who like some action games. Then, how about the others, such as Mario, Kirby, Samus, Link, Star Fox, etc.? Will they come soon?
Well, you might be sad to hear it, but maybe they won’t come. Nintendo said that its overall strategy on developing games for smartphones hasn’t changed and won’t change. Yet, we still want to see the real answer about Nintendo moves on mobile gaming in the future.tags: Android, emulator, game, iOS, Nintendo, official, Pokemon Say Trap?
