Are you bored of waiting for Samsung and AT&T to get the official Gingerbread update for the Samsung Captivate? I may have an alternative for you. Thanks to SamFirmware that makes you don’t need to wait any longer. You can flash the early build of the update now. However, you might experience somewhat buggy firmware.
Actually, SamFirmware has two leaks for the Samsung Captivate, the first was dated on May 26 and the second was dated on June 8. However, the people at XDA Developers are still trying to dig as much as they can on the leaks’ contents. Both of the leaks contain AT&T boatloader. It also seems that the new bootloader in it is identical to that of an Android Gingerbread running on Samsung i9000 Galaxy S. Unfortunately, there are still some problems. The HSUPA is still disabled and you will have to flash the update via Odin to avoid bricking.
However, it is still an official Gingerbread build. So, I think it is worth to try, isn’t it?tags: Gingerbread, SamFiirmware, Samsung Captivate, Samsung Galaxy S i9000, Update, XDA developer
