Google Maps 5.5 for Android Adds New Features and New Locations

Google has just added new features to its Google Maps. The features include the ability to check in and out of places, rate various locations, and get transit information. Those features can be done with Google Maps 5.5 for Android OS. As you might have suggested, the ability to rate various locations is the ability to rate and write some reviews about the locations on the Google Maps. This action can be performed by tapping the rate and review button at Place pages. The ability to check in to various places can also be performed by tapping the check in button at the Place pages. There are also some other addition to the new version of the Google Maps. Those are the option to edit your home or work address for Latitude and redesigned transit station pages.

Google had just released the Location History dashboard for Latitude lat month that can estimate how much time you spend at home, work, and other places. However, the home and work addresses are changeable according to your current home and work addresses.

Even though it has only been about two years since Google added transit direction in Android Google Maps, the Google Maps has covered more than 440 cities from only 250 cities. Also, each page now has a list of upcoming schedule of various kinds of transportation.

So, it seems that the Google Maps becomes even more helpful and informative with Google Maps 5.5.
