Does not work. Get error message when try to access /data
“Your phone doesn’t appear to be rooted”.

Unless your phone is rooted, you will only waste your money. Do not buy!

    • Anonymous

Hey, Root Explorer is cheap or you can get it for free.
You can’t do this if you don’t root your device -_-a

Question.  Will this delete the apps you downloaded with the old google market account?  I want to keep the old apps, but register a new market account moving foward.

    • Wahyu Chris

No. It won’t, but it’s better if you backup your apps first :)

Use AppBackup to backup your applications :)

honestly, you’re a genius, I’m selling my flashed evo 4g and thought I would have to issue the guy a refund or get it reflashed for him! well worth $3.99!

  • RIJUL RIDDHIMAN

simplest technique i used is jus turn off the phone and change the SIM and then turn on it’ll again ask for google account confirmation then we can change email address here, this happens everytime you change the SIM card of your phone, cause it registers then Number to its network whenever any SIM card is inserted, i may jus work simply.

Great tutorial! Thanks a lot! It works perfectly on my Ramos W12HD! :)

You’re a genius..saved me my precious contacts and photos! I’ve been finding a solution for a long time, but nobody could provide me with an answer. Luckily i did not do a factory reset!

THANK YOU!! This works. I already had Root Explorer since it allows me to store stuff in my Nook Tablet’s “protected” 12GB area. So i just had to delete that file, reboot and voila!!

Will the Apps that were installed under the old gmail account still work with the new gmail account?

    • Etornam Kweku

      they will work …

  • Etornam Kweku

If you have Root access all you got to do is lunch Terminal and type
    su
    cd data/system
    rm accounts.db

  • Frank Multani

you can also use es explorer its free change the settin to enable “up to root” something like that and enable root explorer  even if its not rooted its worth a try

  • Alex

The accounts.db file is an SQLite database.
If yor phone is rooted, you can modify it using the SQLite Expert Personal Editor.
Just copy the file to the SD card and open it in SQLite editor.
There you can remove the different accouts seperately.
Before you copy the file back rename the original file to accouts.db.old

  • Apar

    Great!!…..
Awesome Etornam Kweku…It worked like a charm
